Passive fire protection for the marine industry

When exposed to high temperatures (140°C), the intumescent material within the SLEEV-IT marine penetration seal expands to many times its own volume, creating a pressure within the stainless steel casing.

This pressure crushes the softening plastic pipe until a plug of charred intumescent material fills the penetration seal and therefore, closes off the penetration and prevents the spread of fire and hot gases through to the next compartment.
